Chromatic Orbits

"Chromatic Orbits"
It is a poetic dialogue between colour, movement and space. It invites the viewer to reflect on the constant change surrounding us and the beauty that emerges from this dynamic. In this serene flight through the artwork, the magic of the unknown is revealed, creating a sense of wonder and discovery.
Every Chromatic Orbits is an original.

Daphne Glasmacher

Daphne Glasmacher (Ede 1979, living in Amsterdam NL) has been fascinated by optical illusions, natural phenomena in light, time and space and contrasts and movement in everyday life since her youth.

She finds inspiration in changes in nature and natural phenomena, as well as in materials and structures that create suggestive optical movements through light and shadow and radiate a certain magic. Her work invites the viewer to observe different interpretations from different perspectives.

Central to Daphne's art is the interplay of opposites that come together in harmony. She works with light, rhythm, lines and geometric language of form, playing with the right proportions and contrasts in colour and material to create powerful compositions.

Daphne's work, characterised by light and layering, is realised using various techniques in 2D and 3D. She uses mixed media, print, stop-motion, objects, projection, and spatial installations. She prefers materials such as plexiglass and glass and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies.

Her work is shown during various light art and art exhibitions such as: Dutch (de) Light (Unna DE), Hi-Lo Art (Zuidertoren-Schiermonnikoog NL), ILIGHTU (Utrecht, NL), PAN Amsterdam (NL), Art Rotterdam (NL), NAP+ (NL-Amsterdam), KunstRai Amsterdam (NL), Art Island (NL), BIG ART Amsterdam (NL), Parklicht (Amsterdam NL), LJG (Amsterdam), Lightforms (Rotterdam NL), Lichtkunst Gouda (Gouda_NL), Vila Erica- De Kijkdoos Bennekom (NL), Etang d'Art Bourgogne (la Comelle FR), '5ème BIENNALE les 16 et 17 Juillet 2016' (FR), Art en Morvan (Atelier Stern, Le Murger, FR),
